Echoes of Persia

Women in an Ancient Empire

Persia, once an ancient kingdom stretching from the Mediterranean to Asia, stands as the cradle of mankind, a land steeped in rich tradition, art, culture and power and a kingdom filled with symbols of all of that which continue to resonate today. We usually connect to the art, fine clothing, delicacy and soft appearance of woman but not always associate women as warriors.

In this collection, I aim to capture the unique essence where woman stand in the spotlight in their splendor, delicacy, color, but also their strength. From the delicate innocence of childhood to womanhood, to a woman warrior, those unexpected ones—women who left their mark on history.

Here, the past intertwines with the present, fading into one another, yet still alive with the vivid hues of Persia’s legacy. The art, the religion, the deep-rooted traditions: all of it speaks to a culture that has withstood time. Let the images take you on a journey through a world both ancient and ever-evolving, where history is not only remembered but celebrated.

This portfolio challenges the common perception of women in ancient Persia. Beneath the surface of culture and religion that often placed them in the background, there were women who were essential to the empire’s success. Their contributions, though sometimes overlooked, were fundamental in shaping the course of history.

As you explore these images, let touch upon all their beautiful elements, as story of delicacy, the fine art, symbolism but also their power, more than meets the eye at first glance.
