In Kojiki, the oldest chronicle on the origin of the imperial house and world of gods, it is said the first gods grew out of water, like blades of grass and the first land was raised out of the primal sea. The sun goddess and her siblings were born from drops of water which fell from the eyes, nose and mouth of their father, Izanagi. And the imperial gods of Japan were formed from the water sprayed from the mouth of the sun goddess over the well at the centre of heaven
The divine females in all their personalities represent the sacred Shinto spirituality, the natural energy or life force and their entity at land or in the sea. Feminine, soft/strong, shells and mother of pearl express their origin, the feminine energy and divine awareness
